How to Use a Printable Master Set Binder Guide
A printable master-set binder guide turns every empty pocket into part of the collection. Instead of staring at blank binder pages, you begin with a complete visual map. As you collect each card, you replace its matching placeholder while the remaining pieces continue to show exactly what is missing.
This guide explains the full Wacky McLovin process—from opening the download to maintaining your finished binder. It works with both 9-pocket and 12-pocket editions.
What you will need
- Your Wacky McLovin ZIP download
- A computer, tablet, or phone that can open ZIP and PDF files
- US Letter or A4 paper
- A printer set to print at 100% or Actual Size
- Scissors or a paper trimmer
- Optional colored pencils, crayons, markers, or a digital coloring app
- A 9-pocket or 12-pocket trading-card binder
1. Download and unzip your files
After checkout, Shopify sends your download link by email. Select the link, save the ZIP file somewhere easy to find, and then open the ZIP. On most computers, double-clicking the file creates a normal folder containing your PDFs, mural artwork, tracker, and instructions.
Good habit: Keep the original ZIP file as a backup. You can return to your order email whenever you need another copy.
2. Choose the binder layout and paper size
Open the folder for the binder you own:
- 9-pocket: three columns by three rows on each binder page.
- 12-pocket: four columns by three rows on each binder page.
Next, choose the PDF that matches your paper:
- US Letter: 8.5 × 11 inches, normally used in the United States and Canada.
- A4: 210 × 297 mm, commonly used elsewhere.
You can also choose between the full Color Accent version and the lighter Ink Saver version.
3. Print at 100% or Actual Size
This is the most important printing step. In the print dialog, select Actual Size or enter 100%. Turn off options such as Fit, Shrink, Scale to Fit, or Fill Page. Those settings can change the size of the placeholders.
- Print one test page.
- Trim one placeholder.
- Place it behind a card or inside an empty pocket.
- If it fits correctly, print the remaining pages with the same settings.
Standard copy paper works well. For a thicker, more premium insert, use 28–32 lb paper. If your binder pockets are very tight, standard-weight paper is usually easier to slide in and out.
4. Color your connected mural
The placeholders form one connected coloring-book scene across the binder. You can color the artwork before cutting so adjoining lines stay easy to follow.
- Colored pencils: best for small details and controlled shading.
- Crayons: fast, bright, and great for a relaxed coloring session.
- Markers: bold color; place scrap paper underneath to catch bleed-through.
- Digital coloring: use the included full-resolution mural PNG in your preferred drawing app, then print the colored result.
5. Cut the placeholders
Cut along the outer guide marks. A paper trimmer gives the cleanest straight edges, while sharp scissors work well when used slowly. Keep the printed card number and missing-card label visible.
Sort the finished pieces into small page-by-page stacks. This keeps a large set from becoming scrambled during binder assembly.
6. Fill your binder in checklist order
Starting with the first binder page, slide each placeholder into its matching pocket. Follow the numbers and page map supplied in the guide. When placed correctly, the artwork connects from pocket to pocket and page to page.
7. Replace placeholders as your collection grows
When you obtain a card, find its matching placeholder and replace it with the real card. Store the removed piece in the back of the binder, an envelope, or a small card box. This lets you restore or recolor the mural later.
The remaining illustrated pockets become an instant missing-card list. You can see progress without opening a separate checklist every time.
8. Keep the tracker current
Open the included collection tracker and mark each card as collected. Use the notes fields for finish, condition, language, duplicates, or trade status. Save a fresh copy after major updates so you always have a current backup.
Printing troubleshooting
The placeholders are too large or too small
Reprint with Actual Size or 100%. Turn off Fit to Page and confirm that the selected PDF matches the paper in your printer.
The bottom or side is cut off
Make sure the printer is loaded with the correct paper size. If your printer has unusually large non-printable margins, use the Ink Saver edition and test a single page first.
The ZIP file will not open
Download it again before troubleshooting. On a phone or tablet, save the file to the Files app and select Extract or Uncompress. On Windows or macOS, double-click the ZIP or use Extract All.
